M.S. in Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering and another in Geographic Information Science (MGIS) from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus.

Current Activities:
Vinay is a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Irrigation, International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Sri Lanka. He will be working to understand system level tradeoffs and optimal management of surface and groundwater in irrigation systems, using modeling, taking account of return flows. He will also be working on conjunctive use of surface and groundwater and assessing on-farm and within-system water storage and system supply constraints. He will be applying the OASIS model and other frameworks with the objective of increasing water and land productivity and/or minimizing negative downstream environmental impacts through better management of irrigation systems.
