Project Title:
Nutrient loading comparisons for wheat, switchgrass and polars

Job Title: Hydrologist, National Weather Service, NOAA

Job Description:
The most important part of my job is forecasting future river stages throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, eastern Dakotas, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, and northwest Indiana. We use a combination of computer models (snow, soil-water,etc) present and future precipitation and observed river stage data to simulate the future river levels. While involved with flash flooding on smaller tributaries, our focus is on large stem rivers which take over a day to crest. My main responsibility right now is on the lower Mississippi near St. Louis and the Merimac River in Missouri.
