Job Description:
Leif is working at the Remote Sensing and Geospatial Analysis Laboratory (Department of Forest Resources) at the University of Minnesota. With Professors Marvin Bauer and Patrick Brezonik , Leif is conducting research and development of remote sensing applications for water resource management. These applications include statewide water clarity using Landsat and MERIS imagery, aquatic plant assessments using high resolution satellite and airborne hyperspectral imagery and river water quality assessments using airborne hyperspectral imagery. In addition, he has conducted geospatial and temporal analyses of the state-wide water clarity database, in relation to land cover/use, lake morphology, and demography. Leif also teaches at St. Olaf College in Environmental Studies, Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems.
