Thesis Title:
Biomonitoring and best management practices (BMP's) in northern Minnesota: implications for riparian management.

Description of Thesis Project:
My masters work, 1997-1998, was involved with river research conducted in two northern Minnesota watersheds (Knife River: Lake Superior watershed and the Pokegama River: in the Upper Mississippi watershed), evaluating experimental forestry riparian harvest methods. Utilizing a suite of biogeochemical indicators under a reference/impact framework, we evaluated riparian harvesting methods and aquatic macroinvertebrate community composition, habitat, and water quality/chemistry changes.
